What is fairDogs offering?

fairDogs is the online portal in German-speaking countries by and for dog owners. The website provides online privacy for dog owners with useful info on dog development, photo keeping and notes. The dog pages, or parts thereof, can be specifically released for other registered users. Other users can then see the page or add content.  The dog pages have a document drag and drop upload area for documents, certificates, picture gallery and a favorite movie can also be added.  fairDog's personality test is the only one that can also compare and match the personality of humans with that of dogs with just a few questions. The personality development of the dog is automatically recorded with multiple test results. You can find more information on the home page www.fair-dogs.com  The basic offer is free for all users, extensions can be supplemented with a subscription if desired, or a detailed personality report can be purchased. How is the manners on the fairDogs side?

Why duzis?  The first-person form is common at most dog parks, we want to adopt that and also because we are all dog lovers. It should convey closeness and cordiality as well as togetherness, not disrespect.  Why is it only spoken in the masculine form?  Since it means "the dog", for the sake of simplicity we only use the masculine form in the text, even when we are talking about the dog owner. Thank you for your understanding.

Why can't I communicate with others on the platform?

The website is still in the early stages of development. It is planned that over time you will have more and more opportunities to communicate or exchange ideas with others. So at the moment the website is more of a private VIP suite for every dog owner with their dogs.  How important is an exchange with others to you?  very important would be nice unimportant

Was ist Dog Sharing?

Dog sharing is a free alternative to professional dog care. The actual dog owner shares his dog with a dog friend, who also takes care of the care, care and cuddles - depending on the agreement during the day, at night, by the hour or by the week. The dog lives in a home, not in a kennel. This partial model has many advantages for everyone involved:  Dog owners win z. B. Dog-free time to be able to go on holiday without a dog. Dog lovers who cannot keep a dog themselves can spend time with a furry friend thanks to dog sharing. Interested people who want to get to know life with a dog can use dog sharing to gain an insight into everyday life with a dog. And dogs not only gain a substitute master or mistress, i.e. additional reference persons, but also all-round good care, even more love and cuddles. Nevertheless, dog sharing must always be viewed critically: The dog friend with whom the owner shares his dog should be carefully selected and tailored to the dog's needs.

What is emergency care?

An accident resulting in a hospital stay, a long business trip or even fleeing domestic violence - there are many situations in which owners can temporarily no longer look after their dog. The result: the dog has to be cared for in an animal boarding house, which is expensive. If the owner cannot bear the costs for this, he must part with his dog. The dog often ends up in the animal shelter.  The emergency care by Dog Sharing offers a free possibility to accommodate the dog, from which everyone involved benefits. Because during this difficult time, a dog lover takes over the care of the four-legged friend and enjoys him until his master or mistress is able to take him home again. Dog and owner are reunited after the difficult time.  Dog sharing in such situations can save many dogs the trip to the shelter and give them a good time instead. In addition, a dog lover can gain experience with dogs without making a long-term commitment.

What is the difference to professional care?

People who are interested in dogs are often not dog professionals, some of them have little or no experience with dogs. The infrastructure for dogs is sometimes missing. They would like to spend time with a dog on a regular basis and often develop a relationship or friendship with the dog, so they do not expect payment.

Who bears the costs for the dog during the care?

The dog owner is usually responsible for all costs related to the dog and is liable if the dog damages something or injures other people. The owner must be able to show that the person interested in dogs has liability insurance.

Are there age limits for dog sharing?

Accepted Answer

In principle, all fairDogs users must be of legal age. Unsuitable are people who cannot safely lead the dog due to low physical strength. The rule of thumb for this is: the dog must not be heavier than the human.  Pensioners are allowed to have and walk suitable dogs with them indefinitely, as long as they can control the dog and it does not endanger them or others. The dog should not be able to escape from the house or premises if you only have the dog with you and do not take it for a run (someone else will then walk the dog)  Children under the age of 14 are only allowed to walk dogs in the presence of adults - never alone, not even small dogs. The reason for this is other dogs in dog encounters. If their dog is attacked by another, children are not allowed to regulate dog fights.  Listed dogs may only be walked by young people aged 16 and over. In some places people need permits to keep these dogs.
